For the first time in 14 years, the Minnesota Timberwolves made it to the postseason. While they were quickly ousted by the Rockets, it still was a big year for the franchise as their fans hope they will continue to make playoff runs in the near future. When it comes to this offseason, the Wolves don’t have many options as they have strapped themselves financially. They have the eighth highest payroll in the NBA and it will be hard for them to make many moves at all in free agency. Especially given the team’s success in 2018, I would expect them to “run it back” next season and hope for a healthy season from Jimmy Butler. Unless Minnesota is able to find a suitor (or sucker, whichever) for Andrew Wiggins, look for the Timberwolves to simply bring back bench guys like Nemanja Bjelica and Derrick Rose for another Tom Thibodeau induced beatdown of a season.
